May be true, but not the driver
I did a quick look at SEC standings and schedules. Only 1 of their top 10 ranked teams has played more than 1 series against a ranked team, but the number of conference series are comparable. Whether they are following the old Big East/Big 10 scheduling model of scheduling all games between top teams at the end to drive teams up the rankings and get more TV talk time or it's just a coincidence who knows.
Ole Miss is the biggest example. They are a top 10 team, but have only played 5 games against ranked teams and are 2-3. Not saying they are a bad team, but a few more weeks of games against top competition and they are going to drop dramatically in the polls.
