I did not huff and puff about anything to prove anyone wrong.
All I did was react to the interview that you posted ... I assume that you wanted folks to react, otherwise you wouldn’t have posted it.
I referenced what I would have done vs. what he did.
I did not say he was wrong, but in fact, said clearly that it was a very unfortunate thing for VT to lose Bam.
I have expressed that I was a fan of his and I still am.
I’m so sorry to see this guy leave.
But to fair, I pointed out that by his own admission, he was at an ACC game, immersed in a chit chat with a fellow teammate to such a degree that he didn’t even know one of his teammates went down and coach CMY had to yell at him twice to “get in the game.”
That to me is inexcusable.
Actually, I can’t even imagine something like this happening.
You were/are a coach.
How would you react to a player that you are counting on in such a situation?
I think that event may have played a part in his playing time for the duration of the year.
As you are well aware, a coach has to have confidence that a player has his head in the game ... All The Time!
But also, to be fair, I wasn’t there for practice or for discussions between Bam and his coaches, so I don’t know the entire story.
I just wish it had a different outcome.
