Would a 9-game schedule be enough to trigger TV arbitration?


If so, then we should try that. I know the teams with yearly SEC series don't want 9 ACC games because there would be years where they would also have an SEC rival plus ND. To help those teams we should designate the ACC ND games as conference games. That way, a 9 game schedule is not an additional hardship for any team. I'd rather play a 9 game ACC schedule anyway, and it the ND game counts, so much the better.

I'm not sure how the math works out on that, that might not work completely in years where there is an odd number of ACC ND games. I think you might have to limit it to an even number, and randomly drop one out of that arrangement. I did notice that we have years where there are 4 and 6 ND games coming up, so no issue with those (2022 is 4, 2023 is 6, etc.).
