after several players had departed from the program (2014-2016?) because of similar accusations (minus the political views). A goalie and a few other players left the program. Hamel even stated in the article that Chugger doesn't take kindly to players who don't follow his rules and that he'll let them know it. Yelling at a player and getting in their face isn't uncommon and is done by a majority of coaches in all sports but some players don't accept it or feel uncomfortable with that coaching style. When I say "abusive", I'm talking about the word in present day terms. 20 years ago, it would've been normal behavior. There was no university investigation. The players simply left the program and moved onto what they considered better situations. Hamel could tolerate and accept with Chugger's coaching style while Hening did for 3 years until last September during the match at UVA. Like I posted earlier, more clarity could come about if we could find out what happen to the other player who refused to kneel.
