I was thinking something very similar

For a long time, wrestling has had the traditional big four: Penn State, OK State, OSU and Iowa. And after that, any number of teams might populate the next 6 spots any given year. After those names, you'd see OK, and Nebraska.

But it seems to me that the slots beneath the Top Four have changed a bit and become uber talented too, with some bigger profile kids coming out of HS taking a wider look at where they might flourish. That next group of schools - even supplanting Nebraska and Oklahoma - includes VT, NC State, Cornell, Michigan, ASU and Missouri. And in the right year, with the right talent, they can really challenge the top four. The next several years should be exciting.
