Depending on what the train schedule looks like, people may not have


the option to ride the train down and back on the same day. If they can ride it down on Saturday, but have to wait until Sunday to ride back, then they may not be fine with paying for 2 nights at a hotel if they plan to stay only 1 night. If that is the case, then they may conclude that taking the train to the game is no longer an option. Instead, they opt to continue driving down and back on the same day.

I get that the hotels may still have more demand than space available. Also, I get the hotels may not care if Amtrak is successful or not. I guess I would hate to see Amtrak not be as successful as it could be because the hotels weren't willing to play ball.
