Made a couple major purchases over the weekend.

1.) I'm spending my inheritance.

2.) Part of the reason I bought these items is that I was thinking about it, and things are getting so hard to find these days, that I decided to pull the trigger before they disappear.

3.) I'm here to take my abuse and second-guessing.

Okay, on to the purchases ...

First up: a new 2021 Honda Accord. Bottom of the line LX, still a fantastic car with a ton of features. Pic below. Paid $24,800 for it. Duncan Honda doesn't haggle (I tried and they refused), and it was discounted about $1,500 below sticker, and it's still a lot of car for the money.

It has a feature I have never seen before – it reads Speed Limit signs and displays the speed limit next to the speedometer reading. Sometimes it gets them wrong, though – it read the signs as 85 MPH a couple of times in 25 MPH zones. Yikes.

This is the part where you all tell me you saw the same car for $21,000 -- have at it, I wanted to buy local and had been eyeballing this one for a while.

We bought it because my daughter, Anneliese, moves into an apartment next year (sophomore year at VT) and needs something more reliable than the 2005 Wrangler she has been driving for years. She'll probably still have the Wrangler during warmer months, but when the weather gets cold and the parasitic battery drain that three different mechanics haven't been able to find kicks in, she'll drive the Accord for the winter.

Second: an LG 65" Class CX Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV ... Again, been eyeballing it for a while. This will replace a 55-inch Samsung that I bought back in 2011, so it has been a great TV that has served us well.

Best Buy dropped the price from $2,200 to $2,000 (plus gave me another $50 off for being a rewards member, plus another $10 because I had it earned it from previous purchases, so that made it $1,940.) Delivery is free, so I went for it. And yes, I paid over $400 for the 5-year Geek Squad protection, because we bought a $2,000 for the business a couple years ago that I did NOT buy the protection for, and the screen on it failed (power surge, I think), thus rendering the TV useless.

Again, a big reason for purchasing the TV is that things are so damn hard to get right now, and chips are in short supply, so I decided to pull the trigger on something that was (a) in stock (b) went on sale and (c) I'd been wanting for a while anyway.

Link to the TV below, pics of the Accord below. I don't care if you know my plate number.
