In reviewing that pick off by UVA pitcher I still think it was a balk move


If my recollection is right, he brought his lead foot behind the pivot foot on the rubber which requires you to pitch the ball, same as pitching from a full wind-up. There is also a rule which your move can't be deceptive. I have never seen a move to 3rd base that wasn't a straight throw to 3rd, other than the step off fake throw to 1st followed by throw to third. Comments, what did I miss?
