I agree, but to an extent. Let me explain.


Let me preface this saying that I have not read the article. I'll get around to it tonight.

If we are performing a Root Cause Analysis, I agree that social media isn't the "root cause". However, I see social media as a catalyst and "contributing cause" for the issue. It makes it too easy for the 1% and 9% to influence the other 90%. Without that widespread ease of access that social media presents, it would be much more difficult to influence that 90%.
