Yes, I understand that 16 of the 20 will be from playing every other member 1 time. However, my question is really directed at the 4 additional games because I don't think the 4 additional games can't be cleanly divided among the 17 schools. I would think the ACC would run into a similar problem that the MAC ran into football when it had 13 football members and played an 8 game conference schedule. Every year at least 1 team had to sacrifice playing a round robin division schedule in for everyone to play 8 conference games.

If the ACC wants to expand to 16 football members and Notre Dame doesn't want to become a football member, then the scheduling issue in basketball could be a reason the ACC opts to add only 1 full member and 1 football-member or 2 full members and 1 more non-football member to bring the total non-football membership up to 18 members.
