Generally speaking...


VASAP for DWI means ignition interlock as well as alcohol diversion classes. At least that is what an acquaintance of mine is went through when he was convicted of his first (and only) DWI . He had a choice of 6mo interlock and only being allowed to drive to work/grocery store/doctor or 12mo interlock and being allowed to drive anywhere. He chose the latter. Every month or so he had to go get the interlock inspected.

I think he said something about VASAP being "optional" but not really optional, because the alternative was losing his license
