Only looks weak to those on the outside

To AD's, conferences, and the networks they probably know that the game was agreed to back in March and the contract was finalized in the past month with the announcement coming during a slow news week.

The schools' AD's or Assistant AD's probably ran into each other at the NCAA Women's B-Ball Tourney and each expressed an interest to schedule a series. Letter of Agreement is signed, and then the contract is drawn up. No hurry to get it signed since there is an LOA and the games are over 12 years away.
