I thought that

2020 was "the season that wasn't." Covid and empty stadiums even took some of the pain out of the Liberty loss. It was like it wasn't real.

And that 2018 season took it to the limit as far as when a team should get a bowl invite. That Bizzaro World Marshall "make-up" home game. Another bowl loss to Cincinnati (throw in the 1947 Sun Bowl and those Bearcat losses start to sting.).

I thought "no bowl" last year might finally free CJF of the Beamer Legacy.

Hasn't quite worked out like that though
