Need a new washer.dryer. Recommendations?

TSO wants a top load after having a front load for the past several years.

If I had my choice, I'd love to find a set that was all mechanical, no circuit boards or what not. I'm sure that's what failed on this unit, but by the time you do a repair, it's over half the cost to replace and then it will be something else like the pump that goes very shortly thereafter. At least on the mechanical controls you could do some diagnostics yourself and get a $20 part and fix it yourself. Anything in the circuitry and you've got to have a EE degree to find and fix it.
