Redid mine ~4 years ago.
Job with Trex was quoted as between 1.5x-2x the price of job with just pressure-treated lumber.
Hard to say what the final cost difference was because I went with a different guy who only quoted me the Trex price. Also, I only put Trex on the surface and top of rails, and top of steps - I didn't replace vertical PT boards since in good shape and most concerned about surface boards.

No issues since work was done - looks great - zero maintenance is best part - no power washing/staining ever few years.
