Have to hope, UVA lost ~120mpg and has only 1 perimeter scoring threat
Franklin and Gardner can realistically only make up 70 of those and even that is extreme given how much they'll have to shoulder on both ends of the floor.
Beekman already plays 30mpg so he can't make any of those up, and Clark plays 34, so you've got 50 minutes to spread across Shedrick, Caffaro, Stattman and none of those can play the 1 or 2 spot unless UVA has some ace in the hole guard we don't know about.
Compounding the issues is the fact that only 1 player on the roster shoots better than 33% from three and that's Franklin. Spacing the floor is a serious issue which is going to hamper how effective Gardner is inside. Theoretically you could run a box and 1 on Franklin and it would be extremely tought for UVA to manufacture offense. Last year UVa was really only dangerous because of how good Hauser, Murphy, and Huff were from outside. Their ability to stretch the defense opened up a lot of action for those skilled big guys (all 6'8+) to get one on one matchups.
I know on this board we're all very concerned about depth for VT, but at the very least we know we have a solid starting 5 and 1 guy off the bench who scored in double digits a few times in conference last year.
