Re-boot thoughts

I like to point out I certainly do not have all the answers, just a somewhat informed opinion.
-For those who say we could do worse...certainly, but this staff is not it. I believe we know the ceiling and it is not good enough. We are lacking in almost every measurable, recruiting, in game, excitement, interest in program, fund raising, national attention. While the next guy may have to be a "up and comer" risk, it will likely re-ignite a fan base that has been apathetic to say the least. An apathetic base here??? I never thought I would see it. I realize you don't fire to have just a honeymoon phase but when we are losing countless dollars in sales, game day gear etc. this has to be a factor. -For those who say I can't have a rebuild...I believe a decent coach can be competitive immediately, or no worse as long as his vision keeps a few studs around. Our division is awful, a few better coaching moves would make us upper tier this year as bad as we are. -For those who say Fuente is a "good man." I think I believe it, but I don't know...seems like a great family guy but has been arrogant, distant, a bit of a whiner as a leader and downright stubborn at his own peril...not sure he's that exceptional, although with all that said he really tries to run a clean program and I really appreciate him for that. I personally like a young up and comer who would appreciate coming to a pretty big P5 program with history, tradition, great campus, excellent game day, and improving facilities....I Truly believe this is a top 30 job in the entire country. I like the Huff and Chadwell type over a Herman or Bobo. Please don't be offended at my discounting a re-tread, My dream hire is Peterson, but if we can't get something like that, I like the thought of a young hungry guy who would want to be here for a long time and build a program he could be proud of re-igniting. As a huge fan of the wrestling program, I think Whit has proven himself in most ways except the cash cow. I think he can do it this time. Fuente was a "home run" a few years ago that just did not work here. He'll do better at another stop when he's learned from these mistakes. Sometimes a divorce is all that can cure your bad judgement.
