I recommend standing up at your desk

then walking down the hall, going out to the parking lot, getting in your car, driving away, and never returning.

Seriously, life is too short to do something you hate. Re-evaluate your budget if you need to; no amount of money is worth being miserable and/or killing yourself with stress. Lot of good advice on here. I would echo the recommendations of seeking out a good therapist. Depression is real; it's a disease that makes you think things are far worse than they really are. This is why it's called cognitive dissonance. Live for yourself and your wife/partner, not for other people. If your kids are adults, let them live their own lives and take care of your own needs. Good luck and keep your head up, we care about you.
