Neither ISU nor U. Kansas are in the USNWR top 100


When Texas departs, the highest ranked B12 school will be Baylor #75, then BYU # 79, then TCU #83.

Each of the other power conferences has many schools ranked well above that line.

In the ACC, only Louisville is materially below #75. NCSU is #79. Only Louisville is yet lower, at #187 (ugh!).

Off the top of my head, higher than #75:

B1G: Northwestern, Michigan, Maryland, PSU, Rutgers, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, Illinois.

Pac12: Washington, Stanford, Cal, USC, UCLA.

The B12 isn't even close to the same league academically as the Alliance. Thus, it's not in the Alliance.
