Given that the majority of the NCAA DI members are not from a power


conference, then I wouldn't assume they won't let the power conferences leave. Remember the power conferences need the rest of the NCAA for a good number of their non-revenue sports in order to have enough participating teams. The Big Ten, Arizona State, BC, and Notre Dame won't want to just play themselves in M or W ice hockey. The Pac-12 won't want to just play themselves in M or W water polo. The ACC and Big Ten won't want to just play themselves in M or W lacrosse. There are other non-revenue sports that would be in the same boat.
Fans may not care about these sports, but the schools and conferences do.
