I have a feeling I'd have a lot in common with Justin Fuente if I got to chat with him. I think we have many of the same values. I just think he is not a very good head coach at this point, and his social skills are pretty terrible. As an extreme introvert, I can absolutely relate to not enjoying having to constantly interact and answer questions. But when you're getting paid $4 million per year to coach football, you pretty much have to suck it up and figure out how to be good at that. I've learned to fake being an extrovert, and most people at work wouldn't know that I really hate being social. But I do it to survive, and I recharge by living a quiet life at home. Fuente needs some serious help with this if he ever wants another shot at being a successful head coach.

Again, I wish him nothing but the best, but I hope he has enough self-awareness to recognize where he needs some help. One of the best ways to avoid getting fired is to endear yourself to a fanbase and to give those fans every reason to be patient with you. Unfortunately, Fuente never really did that in Blacksburg, and I think this played a huge role in his undoing.
