NFL teams get to choose their players. In college, the players essentially choose their team. I don't follow recruiting at all, but if one of the major knocks against Fuente was that he didn't relate well to players and didn't recruit well, then O'Brien doesn't strike me as upgrade at all. To me, that would seem like VT just wasted 8 million dollars in order for the opportunity to hire a more expensive, less personable version of Justin Fuente.
