Protecting it for 10 years?

I go to three or four PSU games a year so I'm familiar with the program as I follow them too. Personally, I would have extended Franklin -- he's a great recruiter. Those are hard to come by. Bring in the talent and eventually things fall into place.

However, I wouldn't have extended him for 10 years (I would have done the normal 3 year cycle). Ten years seemed excessive to me. But who knows, maybe that's what the market is bearing these days. And who knows, maybe the longer contract lessened the buyout vs a shorter contract and a crazy buyout amount.

I think if Franklin goes 7-5 again there will be lots of grumblings in Happy Vally next season.
