seems to be able to recruit better than his immediate predecessor, but that's not a very high bar. I really don't think he's a very good game day coach. Kitley obviously needed help today. Tenn's multiple bigs were all over her. She had very little help rebounding, and they shut her down inside.
Aisha was obviously hitting today, but she needed more help. Kenny's offensive game plan was to keep feeding Aisha, and in the 4th, Tenn was all over her even from the outside.
As you watched the game, the Tenn defense progressively pushed out offense further out onto the floor, much like Boeheim's zone does in MBB. Some of our other bigs didn't answer the bell today. Amoore offered some help, but the Tenn coach did some very nice coaching today. The PG for them guarded Amoore the full length of the floor. That resulted in contributing to Amoore's apparent fatigue at the end of the game. Also, it took Amoore longer to cross mid court, thus limiting the time for our offense to get into their sets. As I said, nice coaching by Tenn. Tenn's game plan was a long-term plan, not a "next possession" plan.
Also, I find Kenny's placid demeanor disconcerting, much as I did Beth. There are times I think his placid demeanor to be uninspiring, but I do believe it leads to a lack of urgency by the team.
