To a large degree, salary over time is a function of starting salary


at an employer. The reality is that companies have a set merit pool and an overall personnel expense budget. They can only do so much at one time.

Keep that in mind if you decide to broach the topic with your manager. Sounds like they’re generally doing right by you, so I would keep the tone positive vs. griping about pay inequities.
