Riverheads is a Class 1 Powerhouse.

Is the 50 game winning streak a state record? How many D-1 players have come out of there in the past decade? I saw their roster a year or so ago and noticed that they had some good sized players. It seems like Riverheads and Galax have been the top two small schools for some time. When I was young in the 1980's and early 1990's the two teams were Powell Valley and Central-Lunenburg. Central had a 41 game winning streak in the mid to late 1980's and produced a few D-1 players. Powell Valley consolidated with rival Appalachia and Central is a mediocre program since Chippie Chappell retired. How things change over the years. The wisest opponent that Riverheads had this season was William Campbell who forfeited (because of covid) their 2nd round game in the playoffs. Riverheads would've won 80-0.
