I've been saying it for years. Move the bowls to preseason games


with seniors opting out of playing now, there really isn't any reason not to. Benefits:

1. invite seniors back for a free trip to wherever the bowl is. Nice reward for a career of work
2. Allows bowl qualifiers to practice a few weeks earlier than other squads. Reward for team for qualifying.
3. Aligns with a season that more fans are prepared and willing to travel.
4. Allows for more bowl destinations (i.e. in the north) where cold weather won't be a factor
5. Make them exhibitions so freshman can play and coaches can evaluate them
6. Opens up all of December for a playoff system ... whatever that will look like.
7. Frees up most schools from conflicts with end-of-semester finals
8. Creates decent games early in the season to watch rather than FBS vs FCS throwaway games.
