Relieved we found a way to win but it is a bit of mixed bag for me

I actually felt better about the team at UVa Weds when we play tough as nails for 40 minutes but were undone by a couple of unforced errors down the stretch.

Happy Alleyne and Mutts had great games, Storm came up big, Keve did also during the stretch . NGuss gave us a lift. But wonder what the discussions might be here if we hadnt gotten significant help from ND. Atkinson foul trouble was HUGE. Brey helped us with the technical. Best FT shooter misses 2 down the stretch. Still we beat a good team. And finally we got good luck instead of the opposite.

But it shouldnt have taken us 25-30 minutes to turn up the defensive intensity (zero forced TOs), and start powering the ball inside on offense (what 1 FT in the first 25 minutes?). We really got picked apart , confusion on switches, mismatches, help and slow recovery. CMY does not trust the bench and you cant blame him- Padulla and Maddox made key defensive mistakes.

I think starting Wednesday we have 8 games in 19 days. We will have to get much better offensive and defensive value from the bench.

I am hoping for the best but withholding judgement on whether this team has turned the corner. Yesterday could have easily been a huge downer. Fingers crossed we follow it up with more consistent intensity.
