I remember watching the Heidi Game on NBC Sunday night. Jets/Raiders.


Late in the game the Jets were leading by a field goal, 32-29. Then at 7 pm, with only about a minute left in the game, NBC switches to Walt Disney's "Wonderful World of Color"/Heidi special show. Man was I pissed . . . WTF?! . . . who won? Later that night while watching the local (was there any other?) 11pm news/weather/sports, finding out the Raiders had won 32-43 . . . I was furious. OMG, I'm thinking what happened? WTF did I miss? Millions of fans, have always remembered that game. ESPN or NFLN need to replay that game sometime and advertise the hell out of it.
Although Daryle Lamonica was the Raiders QB, your post reminded me of that game. (I didn't remember all of the details of that game presented here from half a century ago and had to google it, of course. Ben Davidson and Joe Namath were two of my favorites at the time.)
