The amount of school work these teams do should never be forgotten
they work on the bus, in hotel lobbies, in their clubhouses between weights/practice, during meals. My daughter has to sacrifice a minor because it's only offered during practice times. We get caught up with the on the field stuff but forget the student in student/athlete sometimes. These are just college kids who just happened to be really good at softball and love it so much they make a lot of sacrifices. We sometimes wonder why they missed a ball, or struck out 3 times, or aren't hitting like they've done in the past - well it could be significant others, school work, mental health issues, being away from home, anything a normal 18-23 year old kid is dealing with. i know a bunch of girls that are already interviewing or have secured jobs after school. There's so much more going on than we see on the field. In other words, good point william floyd. [Post edited by VT_AD at 04/21/2022 3:31PM]
