They are jacked up. Why, I don't know but they are. I watched a game yesterday where a girl was supposedly throwing 67 mph. I happen to be close to her coach so I texted him/her this afternoon to inquire. He/She texted back:

"62. Haha. We need a new pitching coach if she was 67-69 like they had her. Because we better be getting more people out!"

Went on to cite several examples. It's very strange in that the speed differential between true high-60's and others seems to get washed out on many telecasts. No idea why they are doing this but for those not that familiar with the game please realize that true 65+ mph pitchers are pretty rare.
