My Speculation but, one thing I noticed is 97kg at the Open is a very small class in terms of entrants. It also has very little star power, at least so far. We all love Andy and his drive but only 12 guys and not very many household names might be easier to get a high finish and gain confidence. I don’t believe he would have a ton of trouble making 92kg. I think this is strategic confidence building for Andy by the staff. I have no insider information, just a guess. Other thing could be moving him up to back up Catka next year but not sure of the gain. I would expect him to compete with Howard for the 197 starting spot. I guess if a 197 transfer is in the cards they could move Andy up otherwise I think you have Cody and Andy compete.
