Plenty of college sport alternatives

My son is graduating this weekend. He played D2 water polo (divisions don't mean much in college water polo with D1 and D2 only having 4.5 scholarship equivalents for a 20 man roster), and I can tell you that following college for four years was better for us than football. We got to see 3-4 games every tournament weekend at great venues like Bucknell, USNA, Harvard, and Brown (covid killed the CA trips). At most we paid $10 for a full day of games. The competition was fierce, and the athletes train just as hard and long as football players and largely have majors like Engineering and Finance. We'll continue following water polo in the Fall and can see plenty of high level action between GWU and USNA in the area rather than drive 4+ hours to Blacksburg and spend a fortune for a 3 hour game.
