a short time it can certainly cause people to make decisions that don't make financial sense. Plus, most Americans don't have a bunch of money sitting on the sidelines to take advantage of stocks on sale. The majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. I actually made some good decisions between July of 2020 and September of 2021. I sold about 15% of my equities and bought bonds. Now I am reversing and buying many of the same equity funds at far cheaper prices. In hindsight, I wish I had done even more of that.
