That's what I saw. I thought he saw the ball squirting backward and...


realized that if he dove immediately he was going to miss it. He did go down to a knee to try to recover it a split second later. I thought Phil Simms read more into that play than was there. It was a bad result for the Panthers, but I don't think it was evidence for some sort of psychological deficiency on Cam Newton's part.
