Coaches who have 3 studs with decent setup and closers control the series. Usually most teams only have 1-2 studs, and it up to the other coach not to waste his ace against the better teams ace in that case. Depth of pitching allows the better teams to win at least 2 of the 3 games, i.e. 1st and 3rd games of the series. That is why sweeping a team is hard. I don't know if UM tried to steal the first game or did they use their ace Friday night.
