It is my understanding that Brady's wife never really embraced the "JMU Culture" when her husband was the men's basketball HC. An article came out in the DN-R right before JMU hired him that said he turned down the St. Bonaventure job because his wife didn't like upper New York. Hence why he and his family chose to live in Crozet (to be closer to C-ville and all it has to offer) instead of H'burg. It was also a sign that it would be a short marriage because Brady was never active in the community or did weekly public radio shows from a local restaurant.

Now I would hope that Brooks's wife would learn to embrace the "VT culture" if he does become the women's HC. If she doesn't then that could rub people the wrong way and maybe even put a little strain on Brooks's tenure at VT. If she really doesn't want to move to Blacksburg/Christriansburg and Brooks wants to stay at JMU, then JMU could offer him the men's basketball HC job (assuming he is even interested in the job). I believe that may be the only way JMU could match any offer VT gives Brooks. I know JMU has interviewed Pat Kelsey (WInthrop) and Kevin Sutton (Georgetown assistant and JMU alumni). Given Brooks's popular around 'The Burg' and JMU's fundraising effort to build a new Convo Center, Bourne could get the idea of hiring Brooks as the perfect way to rejuvenate fan interest in the men's basketball program.
