someone in the administration (academic or athletic). Even if the administration new it was a possibility, it is possible that nothing was close to be set in stone prior to hiring him. Also, I believe while he was HC at Marist, it became public knowledge that he didn't plan to stay there too long because he wanted to move to bigger programs. Once that information became public knowledge among the JMU fanbase, I believe it didn't take long for the people to conclude that their decision to live in Crozet as a sign they didn't intend to remain at JMU too long either. Once people came to that conclusion, then (right or wrong) they saw that as a shot at H'burg and JMU.

Given that he had a winning overall record while at JMU, I am starting to believe that he could of had similar attendance numbers as Campanelli or Lefty when they were HC (assuming he had either lived in H'burg or Rockingham Co). I suspect he may have even been allowed to have as long of a tenure as Campanelli (assuming he wanted to stay at JMU for 13 years). It definitely odd for a school to fire a HC who had 21 wins his final season and an overall winning record. Then again it is odd for a HC to live 45 mins - 1 hour away from the school too.
