During that time, only two teams from a conference could go to the NCAA tourney. Metro was loaded, FSU was top 5 program every year. Tulane, Memphis State, and Southern Miss were consistently in the rankings also. USC-E joined in 83, and they were very good also.
81 and 82 teams were dynamite, very proud to have been a part of that success!
