Several schools have their own sports networks

BYU does. Liberty Flames have their network. Those 2 are on television. Those 2 probably have the best production quality. I've watched smaller schools with bad to mediocre production quality.

From the Tech produced games that I've watched on ESPN3 the past year, the quality depends on the announcers. Tech is limited in the number of cameras used, but a good announcing crew can improve the production quality. Men's basketball had much better quality than women's lacrosse or soccer. That's because basketball is a revenue sport and attracts more viewers.
