What is your point, Stech? That Swofford is a good commish and has presided over inspired negotiation of the changes to the collegiate landscape? That the ACC has never been considered a great conference overall?

The fact is that the ACC went from the highest per team payout to fourth on Swofford's watch. Yes, that was driven by football, particularly what happened at FSU, Miami and Clemson. But I'm not sure how you can sit there and justify the terms of the 2010 deal, other than it was Swofford trying to buy himself more time in the comfy chair. I'm all ears if you have a strong argument why a 17-year term and giving up rights to tier-2 and tier-3 programming was a good deal. But I'm all ears...
