ancient history. Velocity matters a lot. So does location. I've watched a lot of 'Denny's girls'. Spin is great but it's really not as important as location. You can be very successful throwing a 65 mph fastball IF you can throw it wherever you want. My daughter had 500+ K's against D1 batters and a career ERA of 1.62 with a 'fastball first' philosophy throwing from 43'.
I personally think Angela was a one-off kind of phenom. Her dad has gotten a lot of mileage of her success but her sister's career speaks to the fact Denny doesn't have a fail-safe formula.
