If someone chooses to spend their disposable income on it...
...it's their money.
I would much rather watch it on TV while saving potentially thousands of dollars and time. If I want to go to a particular game, I will buy outside the stadium on the cheap.
Life no longer revolves around VT athletics...it's still a part of life, yes...but there are more important aspects of life. Whether we go 6-6 or 14-0, it has no impact on my day to day life.
I used to have season tickets and found that the money spent could be much better used in other aspects of life that are much more rewarding and/or have assets in hand.
