Why is it that every time conference realignment comes up, the new guys on the block (the Big Easters) are so quick to denounce Wake? The ACC, including Wake Forest University, welcomed all 30+ members of the Big East with open arms.

Yes Wake is small private school, but a founding member of the conference you now call home. Wake is probably (albeit low key) one of the best allies to have in the ACC. Wake has always had Clemson's back - even going as far as defending Clemson when UNC AD John Swofford pressured the conference to impose extra sanctions on Clemson in the early '80s and essentially robbing us of another natty in '83.

Wake and Nathan Hatch probably have the future of the conference in its hands re: Notre Dame (and therefore the difference in a lucrative tv deal or the imploding of the conference in which you now call home).

This is not directed at simply Hokies fans, but all former members of the Big East. I just want to understand what you have against Wake Forest, a founding member of the ACC? Too many NC schools? What about when VT wasn't initially considered in the 2003 expansion because there was already a Virginia team in the conference?

Their 63 years of membership should at least be treated as equally as the past 2-13 years of the new members. We're all in this together for now, love it or leave it.

It really hurts me to see Clemson's football schedule yearly now realize that as a founding member, on an 8-game conference schedule, we play TWO of our founding brethren now (NCST/Wake). Things like that get lost in realignment talk. We lost a lot of history in taking on new members. The conference is stronger, but it ain't the same.
