I think if you talked to somebody close to the program about this they'd have a lot of interesting things to say - except they'd probably keep their mouth shut because why go there - but zero percent of that conversation would revolve around semantics.

So far that's all I'm getting is semantics - when the point, the only thing relevant, that buzz aggressively pursued other job openings this off season - is what's really fascinating.

And so far all I get are "HOW CAN ANYONE KNOW THAT!" and "what is the meaning of the word 'is' ? "

It's okay I mean. I've said my peace. There is nothing to defend. I've shared what I know and pointed you towards "sources" who are "reputable" if you want confirmation. Anything else is just going in circles.
