You don't get it. Third string goes through


same basic drills as the first 2 strings. When it is time to prepare for a game, the first 2 strings scrimmage and rehearse situations. The point being to be prepared to beat the next opponent. The third string etc is not ignored as you claim. They are given their assignment.

There are max hours coaches can be with players. Players can workout on their own all they want. They can watch film to the cows come home. Zero connection to max hours.

I didn't play varsity on the 70s. Different rules back then make your argument irrelevant But I did live in the practice courts in the back of the Cassell. I was there 2 hours/day during high school and through my time at VT. Many pickup games with varsity players. Even one center for the Chicago Bulls.

Last comment, you will find not much difference in practices with new regime. First 2 strings will get the most attention.
