I live in Oklahoma and Tech's former manager, Pete Hughes, as you may recall left Tech to go to OU where the pay and commitment were better (as Weaver was still the A.D. at Tech). Hughes as you know did a terrific job at Tech but at OU has had .500 teams or only slightly better. This year they are something like 24-24, and they play in the shadow of Okla State which has a better program. I suspect that the O.U. fans and alumni, who don't want to be second best to Okla State in anything, will next year put some heat on Hughes. Any chance that a good offer from Whit could lure him back to Blacksburg? If so would that be desirable? This, by the way, would allow Mason to remain as pitching coach where he did a pretty good job. Interested in your thoughts on this.
