AB: I know league commissioner John Swofford has wanted a one-voice policy on the ACC channel, and most athletic directors deferred comment about it to him, but what can you share about the possibilities there?

WB: Really, there’s nothing new for me to say on that. I feel that we’ll have clarity one way or another this calendar year. I trust commissioner Swofford, hopefully they’re working out the details and we have confidence in him to be the one voice. They were favorable, positive conversations. But there’s nothing to my understanding that’s done yet. Hopefully it will be. Just let us know.

AB: So the information you got was encouraging? I assume a lot of the conversations was about where TV is going, not where it is now.

WB: Yeah, there was a lot of that too. That was interesting. There’s this linear aspect that we’re used to, but then there’s the digital and over-the-top TV and unbundling and all those things. I would say commissioner Swofford is always very conservative, but he always seems to be encouraged by the way things are progressing and all that. I think John Swofford will be glad when it’s over, and ESPN too. That’s a poor choice of word. I think we’re all ready for closure one way or another.

AB: So you don’t get asked about it all the time?

WB: [Laughs] Yeah, that’s right I should have just said no, there’s nothing new.
