It's your board, not mine (a Hoo I am), but to me that's not the story.
Sure, I can understand that losing like that is tough. Just like winning like that (for us Hoos) is pretty unsatisfying.
But the real story is your pitcher. I feel for him in a huge way. I imagine he was pretty well hung out after that called ball. These kids put everything into their craft. For years before they get to college.
I have a great, great friend (centerfielder) who played college baseball (not at UVa). His son pitched in college (not at UVa). His grandson is playing on a Richmond travel team. At the age of 11, he's pitching in the upper 60s. He's fast. He swings a mean bat. There's little doubt he'll play college baseball. What I'm saying here is that baseball is in this family's blood.
And Billy said the same thing I just wrote: I feel for the kid who walked the winning run in. These kids have worked and sacrificed to get where they are. Billy's son would lose a game and go run 5 miles. Get the endorphin flowing to wash away the pain of the failure.
So UVa got a win. OK, fine. Every win is a plus, but this one is a plus .000000001.
And I feel for your pitcher. That's a tough minus.
