You build a foundation by winning the games you're supposed to win.

If we go 7-5 with one of those wins being against UT or ND, I will not be happy. That means we lost 1-2 games that we should have one, and that's no better than Beamer's final years (see 2014, with a win over OSU and a loss to Wake Forest).

I think in year 1 you want to see your team making steady improvements, and beating the teams they should beat. You can build on that.
